Design in Italy in critical times

Dom-ino
Gianmaria Sforza

DOM-INO is a crossbreed between a bookcase and a shelves unit, a place for objects to drift to, a multilayer object where to sensibly accumulate our daily life’s belongings.
It can take multiple configurations, up to 972, choosing from the four possible shelf positions during each step of the assembly.
On completion, the shelves project lightly from their base while the supports use alternating shelves to design an apparently unstable geometry, ambiguous to perception.

icon-archi Gianmaria Sforza is an architect and designer since 2001. In 2006 he won Almerico De Angelis Young Designers Award. With Tribacchetta and Babele he is present in the exhibition: "The New Italian Design. The mobile landscape of Italian design", at the Triennale in Milan. His projects range from the scale of the landscape to architecture, to the object of personal use, to suggest good and new patterns of behavior and consumption.
